Under the Small Business Initiative, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is organising the first business matching trip to China for SMEs in the machinery & industry automation sector. During the programme, owners and executives of SMEs will travel to Shanghai to explore the latest industry trends, find new partners, and seek business opportunities to grow their businesses
When: 18 – 23 September, 2018 (arrival date: 17 Sept, 2018)
1. China International Industry Fair (CIIF)
Since its launch in 1999, CIIF has become one of the most influential international industry brand exhibitions in China. In 2018, over 2,500 exhibitors and 160,000 trade visitors are expected to attend the event.
This trip will focus on three thematic shows including metalworking & CNC machine tool show, industrial automation show, and robotics shows. SMEs from relevant industries are welcome to join. For detailed information:
2. One-to-one business matching meetings
Pre-arranged business meetings with Chinese companies that visiting enterprises wish to meet. These can add significant value; the EBRD organises the meetings and they allow the visiting enterprise to engage directly with potential suppliers and business partners.
3. Business visits to major machinery companies in China to learn about their solutions, successful experiences and establish possible business links.
Eligible participants: Up to 20 active senior-level executives from leading machinery & industry automation sector small or medium businesses that have maximum of 250 employees.
Costs: Participants are expected to incur the cost of airfare to and from Shanghai. Per diem that covers the cost of a hotel room, food and incidental expenses related to the trip will be reimbursed.

This programme is implemented by the EBRD and funded under the EU4Business Initiative of the European Union. The EU4Business Initiative covers all EU support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the region of the Eastern Partnership which brings together the EU, its member states and six partner countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
